Bio
Originally from Houston TX, Olivia graduated from The University of Texas of Austin in 2023 with a BFA in studio art. She currently teaches part-time at a ceramic studio and works on paintings/commissions the rest of the time.
Olivia’s passions for backpacking, ceramics, and moody landscapes are what inspire her to create. Her 5 month life changing walk on the PCT (Mexico to Canada) shifted landscapes from mere backgrounds to the main subject. She is influenced by contemporary and historic landscape painters, ceramic sculptures and the transitional periods of light. Her work strives for an emotional connection to a landscape that can be universal and understood by all. Nuances of temperature and stylized compositions emphasize her own perspective and lived experiences with the environment around her. Her work examines themes of deep connections and a search for a place that feels like home.
